Exercise Bourbon - Nesscliff BTA - Nov 2005

Cadet corporals Stone and Sheppard, cadets Lee-Harbour, Conway and Bosworth and Fg Off Swift from 425 Sqn took part in Exercise Bourbon at the Nesscliff BTA over the weekend 18-20 Nov, along with 30 cadets from 1046 Sqn (Staffordshire Wing) and 121 and 485 Sqns (Warwickshire/Birmingham Wing). They all lived in an old bunker in a wood on the training area - without heating or lighting - and with nighttime temperatures of -6ºC outside. The cadets took part in initiative, comms and leadership training exercises during the weekend - and had a lot of rounds each on the range.

Exercise Bourbon, organised by 485 Sqn, was a great success.
We would like to thank Flt Lt Coates and his staff from 485 Sqn for inviting us and making this a memorable weekend.

Thanks to the AWO, civcom and friends who decorated the building and organised the evening, witch went off a treat with lots of ghoul party games, mainly involving water or sticky doughnuts...!

425 Cadet is Awarded the ACO Communicator Badge

After 2 years of regular radio operating on the ATC HF and VHF radio nets and having completed the required training modules, Cdt MacDonald has been awarded the Air Cadet Communicator Badge. There are currently only five cadets in Staffordshire Wing who have qualified to wear the badge...so this is quite an achievement.
Well done !!

Pelsall Carnival 2005
Thanks to the hard work of the Civilian Committee, 425's attendance at this year's Pelsall Carnival was a great success and raised over £500 for squadron funds.

Almost all of our cadets were able to make it on the day...

Not seen in
the sqn photo above is Cpl Horobin, who had accompanied AWO Timmins (and her
swollen ankle) to casualty...
